Press Release: Viking Boxing & Fitness Club Fundraising Family Fun Day

June 13th, 2012

Karen Lumley MP recently took time to visit the Viking Boxing & Fitness Club in Lakeside Redditch to hear more about their Fundraising Family Fun Day scheduled to be held at Valley Stadium – home of Redditch United FC on Saturday 28th July.

Viking Boxing & Fitness Club have chosen to donate a portion of the proceeds raised from this event to support Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice after the father of Wayne Branson, one of their member’s, was cared for by the hospice earlier this year.

Alice Higgins – Senior Community Fundraiser for St Mary’s Hospice said, “Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice provides care and support for over 1000 patients a year who are dealing with a terminal illness. We help them enjoy the best quality of life possible and ensure their loved ones are supported for as long as they need us. It costs £6.7million a year to keep the hospice open so we rely heavily on the generosity of the public through events like these.”

Karen Lumley MP added “It was great to catch up with the team at Viking Boxing & Fitness. I was really pleased to hear about the progress they are making as a new business in Redditch along with all their efforts for the Family Fun Day due to take place in July and I wish them continued success in the future.”

For more information or tickets for this event please contact Laurence O’Conner at Viking Boxing & Fitness Club on 07576 563 569 or a member of the team at Valley Stadium on 01527 67450.
