On Tuesday June 12th local MP, Karen Lumley hosted a Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons to help highlight the importance of defibrillators in school and club premises. The event was a huge success with cross-party support from all over the country.
Karen said, “I was more than happy to help organise and host a Parliamentary Reception for the cardiac charity SADS UK which is such a worthwhile cause. I have met with local Redditch family, the Underwoods several times who unfortunately lost their daughter to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. I will continue to do all I can to support their campaign and spread the word regarding the importance of defibrillator access in school and clubs.”
Anne Jolly, founder of SADS UK said, “It was really good to meet Karen Lumley and we really appreciate her hosting the Parliamentary Reception to highlight this important issue. It was good to see so many MPs and other attendees so passionate to put defibrillators in place in schools and I feel sure they will go back and explain how important this initiative is.”
