Press Release: Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trusts Contradictory Announcements

August 17th, 2012

Karen Lumley, MP for Redditch County released a statement today saying:

“This afternoon a further press release was sent out from the Trust which now claims they are still committed to holding a second round of public meetings, despite statements to the contrary issued this morning. I am very unhappy about how this has been handled and although the most recent press release shows support for a second round of meetings, the content was woolly and lacking in detail. It contains no dates as to when the second round of meetings will take place and so we are still left hanging on a cliff edge, wondering what will happen next.

I now call on the Trust to provide the dates as to when the second round of public meetings will be. My constituents have the right to have these meetings with the Trust and to know, the times, dates and locations well in advance. I sincerely hope that what has happened today is not indicative of how the rest of the process will be handled and I urge the Trust to communicate with local residents more clearly and more regularly.”

Karen is looking forward to working in partnership with First and the Kingfisher Centre to see what improvements could be made to the current Bus Station in the future and to look into what extra services they can provide to improve the transport situation for the people in Redditch.
